Fidelity Bank celebrates National Chocolate Day with heartwarming initiatives across Ghana
In a heartfelt celebration of National Chocolate Day which demonstrated a steadfast commitment to inclusivity and empowerment, Fidelity Bank Ghana, the nation’s largest privately-owned bank, embarked on a series of initiatives, spreading joy and making a positive impact in communities across the country.
Spearheaded by the Customer Experience team, the bank kicked off the festivities with a thoughtful donation to New Horizon School, followed by special events honouring mothers of children with disabilities and a generous contribution to Cosmos Center for Children with Special Needs.
The Customer Experience team from Fidelity Bank continued their long-standing tradition of supporting New Horizon, this year offering a double dose of sweetness: a donation of GHS 10,000 and two boxes of locally-made chocolates.
The donation will provide essential educational materials, directly impacting the learning environment and empowering students with disabilities. The chocolates, however, served as more than just a sweet indulgence. They became a catalyst for connection and shared joy, as the Customer Experience team interacted with the students, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Led by Comfort Amoo, Head, Customer Experience, the donation event, held on Thursday, February 15th, 2024, highlighted Fidelity Bank’s longstanding commitment to inclusivity, empowering the less fortunate, and community development.
“Building an inclusive future where everyone has access to opportunity, regardless of ability, is a core value at Fidelity Bank,” declared Comfort Amoo. “Our enduring support for New Horizon exemplifies our commitment to this principle. The interactions and conversations we share with the students here are truly enriching, reminding us to return each year and offer our love and support.”
Amoo continued, “Celebrating National Chocolate Day and the month of love presented the perfect opportunity to share these moments with our New Horizon family. We’re delighted to contribute both financial resources and essential items to their school.”
“We are deeply grateful for Fidelity Bank’s continued support over the years,” expressed Jocelyn Adoboe, Deputy Principal (Academic Section) of New Horizon Special School, extending her thanks on behalf of the students, boards, and management. “Their consistent contributions have had a transformative impact, especially during this season of love. We appreciate not being left behind, and are immensely grateful for their continued belief in our journey.”
Adoboe added, “From supporting us through challenging times to offering this generous donation, Fidelity Bank truly embodies the spirit of partnership. This combination of essential materials and the engaging chocolate experience perfectly represents ‘learning through joy.’ We are deeply grateful for this opportunity to further enhance our educational environment.”
Beyond chocolate delights, Fidelity Bank’s Accra East Sector recognized the remarkable resilience of mothers raising children with disabilities. A special luncheon and donation event held at the Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations (GFD) offered these extraordinary women a moment of respite, connection, and support.
Mrs. Hannah Awadzi, Executive Director of the Special Mothers Project, commended the bank for its commitment to inclusivity and urged further engagement with issues affecting children with disabilities. Ms. Lila Daisy Hagan, Branch Sales and Services Manager at the Ridge Towers branch of Fidelity Bank, emphasized the importance of addressing the needs of these mothers as part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
Meanwhile, the Northern sector of Fidelity Bank celebrated National Chocolate Day at Cosmos Center for Children with Special Needs in Dormaa Ahenkro. The bank made a generous donation of GHS 10,000 worth of items to support the centre’s commendable efforts in providing specialized care for children with special needs.
Fidelity Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility Co-Ordinator, Majorie Quansah, emphasized the importance of National Chocolate Day extending beyond mere indulgence: “This day presents an opportunity to spread kindness and make a positive impact in our communities” she said.
“At Fidelity Bank, we believe in using such occasions to create meaningful connections,” Quansah added. “Through our various initiatives, like those at New Horizon School and Cosmos Center for Children with Special Needs, we aim to brighten lives and empower individuals. We are proud to contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate society.”
Fidelity Bank remains committed to corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at education, community development, and empowerment. By prioritizing meaningful contributions and fostering inclusive environments, the bank remains steadfast in its mission to create a brighter future for all Ghanaians.
