End of Year Christmas Message- Anthony Pile, MBE
As 2025 draws to a close, it offers us all a moment to reflect on a year in which the UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce (UKGCC) continued to demonstrate resilience, leadership, and purpose. Together, we delivered real value for our members and the wider business community through our CEOs’ Breakfast Meetings, outbound trade missions, and an extensive programme of impactful webinars, seminars, capacity-building initiatives, and stakeholder engagements.
A defining milestone this year was the two-day UK–Ghana Trade & Investment Forum, organised in partnership with the UK Government, the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programmes Secretariat, and DMA Invest. With its focus on industrial transformation, strategic partnerships, and financing for priority growth sectors, the forum reaffirmed the critical role UKGCC plays in shaping conversations that drive economic progress.
Our outbound trade missions — from the Garments & Textiles Roadshow to the Jewellers Trade Mission — also provided tangible evidence of UKGCC’s impact. These missions strengthened institutional collaboration, opened market opportunities, and deepened UK-Ghana commercial ties in meaningful and measurable ways.
Our networking events again proved to be some of the most anticipated on the business calendar, attracting strong interest and sponsorship from across sectors.
This year, we also released our 2025 Business Environment and Competitiveness Survey, which recorded a significant rise in participation, with 1,016 businesses responding — a 40% increase over 2024’s 725 participants. The 2025 edition of the survey is particularly significant as it reflects the sentiments of businesses during a period of transition and recovery.
Beyond trade, policy advocacy, and networking, UKGCC continued to make a difference in the community. This year, through our social impact drive, we are raising funds to support the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital because for us, prosperity is not just about profit — it is also about people.
These are not just stories of progress — they are proof of the UKGCC’s continued ability to bridge nations and build prosperity through action.
As we approach our tenth anniversary next year, we look back with pride and forward with optimism — knowing that the next decade will only see the UKGCC grow from strength to strength.
We are also delighted to welcome a remarkable number of new and returning member businesses this year, reflecting a significant expansion of our community. To each of you — Stanbic Bank Ghana, Barclays International, Akka Kappa, Templars Law, Legal Ink, Buck Press, ACSA Capital, The Buka, Shillon Services Ltd., Globe Productions, Pioneer Food Cannery, Audiovisual Systems, Mojo Payments, Northlite Solar, NA’HA Organics, Advance Pharma, Diagnostics Centre, AI Construction, Banost Consult, Novelty Innovations, Kasapreko, Ntrakwah & Co. and RMAK International — welcome once again. You have our assurance that UKGCC remains steadfast in advocating for your interests and creating the platforms that enable real business growth across Ghana, the UK, and beyond.
This has been a year of progress, strengthened partnerships, and renewed momentum — all made possible by your continued trust and engagement.
On behalf of the UKGCC member companies, its Executive Council and UK-based Advisory Board, I wish you a Happy Christmas and a truly prosperous New Year.
Best wishes
Anthony
