UKGCC champions responsible leadership at National Boardroom Governance Summit 2025
The UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce (UKGCC) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing responsible leadership and corporate governance at the National Boardroom Governance Summit 2025, held in Accra.
The summit, convened by Professor Douglas Boateng in collaboration with the Office of the Chief of Staff and Labadi Beach Hotel, brought together governance experts, business executives, and policymakers to discuss evolving trends shaping board leadership and accountability in Ghana and beyond.
UKGCC’s Executive Director, Adjoba Kyiamah, joined a panel discussion on “Chair or CEO – Sequence and Governance Dynamics,”moderated by Professor Ernest Kofi Abotsi, Dean of the UPSA School of Law, alongside Ms. Sena Dake, FCA, FIoD, and Mr. David Eduaful, Managing Director of Labadi Beach Hotel. The session examined how leadership roles and governance sequencing impact board effectiveness, transparency, and decision-making.
The summit also featured strong participation from UKGCC member companies, including Alex Apau Dadey, Executive Chairman of KGL Group (Platinum Member); David Eduaful, Managing Director of Labadi Beach Hotel(Sterling Member); and Lily Acquaye, Partner at JLD & MB Legal Consultancy (Bronze Member). Their panel discussions focused on “The Role of the Chairman in Effective Boardroom Governance” and “The Role of the Board Secretary,” highlighting the importance of collaboration, integrity, and well-defined responsibilities at every level of governance.
Reinforcing UKGCC’s focus on promoting ethical and effective leadership, Kyiamah reiterated that strong boards form the foundation of strong institutions — and by extension, national development.
