Students of Delhi Public School International (DPSI) have added their voices to the call for positive action on Climate Change. They did so during their annual science exhibition fair on their school’s premises.

The theme for the exhibition was “Reclaiming the Planet”, and saw over 700 exhibitions.

The students’ offered solutions to some of the challenges confronting the environment. This year’s edition saw the participation of students from pre-primary to the senior secondary levels.

Their works focused on a number of interventions from “save energy- save the planet”, to working models including the use of solar energy to control traffic lights and the use of AI in directing traffic, among others. Other exhibitions provided solutions using the 3-Rs (Recycle, Reuse and Restore) model.

DPSI-Ghana is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).

As such the school authorities mandated the students to research, design and make brief presentations of their projects to parents and other guests who visited their stands.

The founder of DPSI-Ghana, Mr. Mukesh Thakwani, alongside other high-profile personalities such as the Lebanese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Maher Kheir, and Kenya’s Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Eliphas Barine, visited all 700 stands and were briefed on the importance of the various innovations. Mr. Thakwani was excited at what the students had been able to create.

Some of the dignitaries present praised school authorities for taking STEM education a notch higher.

The head mistress of DPSI-Ghana, Dr. Seema V. Nair, praised the students for responding to the theme positively.

Officials of DPSI-Ghana say they are looking at an inter-school science exhibition between schools in the sub-region.
