GOIL is the leading oil marketing company in the country. We are currently competing with over 40 OMCs, so the terrain is very tough. But I must say Ghanaians have kept faith with us and we've had very good partnerships with other companies over the years and so we are still striving on.
We are not only into the sale of fuel and lubricants, we also sell bitumen; we are in the mining sector; we are at the offshore looking at drilling for our own use and for the international market, and we have other non-fuel related sections like our merchandising unit and our safety unit.
I must say being a member of the UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce has helped us. It's opened us up to more partnerships, especially for the mines and at this function (International Jazz Day and Whisky event), I’ve gotten into contact with people who have promised us some business so from here we are going to do some follow-ups to follow up on that business. I must say the networking has been good. Our next line of action is to look at the trade shows so that we take opportunity of that to portray GOIL internationally.
