Hello all. Let me begin by wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year.
This year, Ghana begins a new journey under a new government. This government has campaigned and promised to put the economy and job creation at the heart of its mandate.
President Akufo-Addo said, “The doors of Ghana are open again; there could not be a better opportunity to make it in Ghana. Ghana is open to business again.”
Ghana is at the cusp of prosperity and sustainable economic advancements. This position can only be furthered with a definitive focus on agriculture, public sector reform and fiscal discipline.
Ghana has a steep battle ahead, with crippling debt and widespread unemployment, it is imperative that the new government sets our credible policy options to tackle the deficit and grow the economy.
The UKGCC and its members will continue to contribute to the growth of the economy, provide a platform for bilateral trade between the UK and Ghana and support for entities trying to break into either market. We are dedicated to promoting Ghana as an investment destination and showcasing the many thriving sectors Ghana has to offer.
The UKGCC intends to increase trade between Ghana and the UK through our various programmes and I hope you support us in this quest.”
